Ogengo Primary School well

Donor: THE STEVE WILLIS MEMORIAL FUND. IN LOVING MEMORY OF STEVE WILLIS (MANAGING DIRECTOR OF RED CHILLI); BORN 29TH AUGUST 1967; TRAGICALLY KILLED IN MURCHISON FALLS, 8TH NOVEMBER 2005.

Ogengo Primary school is a public school located in Ogengo A village in Diima parish, Mutunda sub-county, Kiryandongo district. The school supports 860 children (404 girls and 456 boys) from 218 parents living in 8 surrounding villages of Diima B, Barudugu, Ogengo A, Ogengo B, Abindu A, Abindu B, Teyago and Palee.

Ogengo Primary School is located on the Kampala Gulu highway approximately 15 kilometers from Diima Trading Centre and 40 kilometers from Bweyale Town Council. The population using the water point has increased tremendously over the past few years, with 860 school pupils, 14 staff members, and 390 additional community members who all use water from the deep borehole well, putting the well under severe strain and leading it to break down.

Together with the Steve Willis Memorial Fund, The Water Trust carried out a major rehabilitation on the school deep well. As a result, clean water now flows, and school children, staff, and community members can again enjoy clean, reliable water.
